FFA
*The ideal FFA should have 8 people per game.
**Top 4 should advance from each FFA.

Change the default "Slayer Pro" settings to the following:
Game Options >> Slayer
Kills to Win = 50

Player Options
Respawn Time = 5 seconds
Suicide Penalty = None

Indicator Options
Other Players on Radar = No
(This option may vary. As with all gametypes, strategies vary depending on what an individual or team is playing. Radar simply allows players to know where other players are without having to actually see them on their screen. It assists the player to know if someone is behind, above or below them. However, this can also lower the players reliance on their normal in-game awareness. It also can reduce ones ability to out think and out maneuver another player since you have a tool to show an opponent's location. Radar can cripple strategically maneuvering to gain an advantage on your opponent since they will know where you are if you do not crouch walk. This can take away the players movement ability and can lead to slower gameplay. This is why Players World Network suggests this setting to be "No").

2v2
*Gametypes used for 2v2 = Team Slayer

FFA with no radar is defenitley how it should be played.
awareness and quick reactions are good attributes.

so many great 2v2 maps.

2v2 should definitely be 5 seconds...

derelict should NOT be in 2v2s, its an FFA map. it is very unbalanced, which is why MLG did not use it in its rotation for halo 1. i understand some people love derelict, but fact is its just not as suitable for telling which team is better like the rest of the maps. if it were balanced, then people wouldnt be talking about putting camo where health pack is.

I wasnt big into Multiplayer when Halo 1 came out. I was still in my Madden days haha. Are these the rules that MLG used?

Wow. I don't know who came up with these gametypes but they really need to be edited. If you are playing MLG settings there are alot of settings that need to be changed:

10 second Suicide Penalty is always on for all gametypes
Radar is on for FFA only
5 sec respawn in all 2v2 games
10 second respawn in all 4v4 TS games
10 sec respawn in 4v4 ctf Derelict, Battle Creek, Damnation, Hang 'em, Rat Race & Longest to 3 caps
Dammy, Hang 'em and Rat Race are switch sides maps

5 sec respawn on Wizard with 5 caps

KOTH:
suicide penalty on
10 sec respawn
Maps:
Battle Creek
Dammy
Longest
Chill Out
Prisoner
Rat Race
Wizard

Derelict KOTH Pistols only is an outstanding gametype - it takes out rockets and camo

Oddball:

10 sec respawn w/ 10 sec suicide penalty

It's pretty gay in H1 but it's decent on Chill Out, Prisoner, Derelict, Battle Creek, Longest, Wizard, (in that order) Don't play it on Hang em, Dammy or Rat Race it gets really bad on those maps

I hate respawn time in any game. It just sucks. The last thing I want to do while playing Halo is sit around twiddling my thumbs for 5 or 10 seconds.

I won't play any game that has radar on. Radar is for campaign.

I understand why it's there for (FFA)tournaments, but I don't agree with it. Motion Sensor is terrible for multiplayer imo.

If Derelict is listed as a 2s map then so should Wizard, they are both terribly unbalanced and I wouldn't have either listed.

4v4 TS should be 5 second respawn, not 10 second.
Oddball on Dammy as Reverse Tag with two balls.

I'm going to start linking XBC kids with wrong settings to this thread..I'm sick of instant respawn times in 2v2 or 3v3.

Could someone please explain to me what reverse tag is? I played it once (at Maryland Madness) and was very confused!
