Spawns were the one thing I was never good at predicting in H1.

It's been off and on for almost 8 years! How much longer will it take?

Of course, I never really thought about spawn points and predicting spawns in H1, always seemed random.

well some are on certain maps like getting randoms on hh etc but pris iuts pretty easy to catch just gotta pay attention

You can actually get a random spawn for your teammate on any map. Just a matter of finding out where they are on each map. I'm willing to bet someone, somewhere has made a tutorial/map of all of these spawns. If it hasn't been done yet, it should be haha.

ive thought that before.. someone should make an instructional video for those wanting to learn the secrets of the pros.. although i dont know that it would actually help that much. it just takes playing alot and you start to pick up on it, its not like you take the time to think about spawns in an intense game.. you just know and react..

As far as I know there aren't actually any random spawns in some maps, for example, Prisoner. You only will get randoms if the game decides to give you one of those improbable "random" randoms or if a player from the other team is forcing your spawn else where.

Off the top of my head I don't think there are any randoms in Rat Race either, but I'm probably mistaken.

yes there are randoms on RR and placement spawns as well

insidious figured out that if you're 17.5 meters from any particular spawn (in a radius) you'll get a random, if an opponent is in that radius (like the blocking spawn in the corner of prisoner by os) then you'll get the next closest spawn or a random...he said think of a 17.5 meter radius around you or a big bubble with that radius...you'll usually get the closest spawn within that 17.5 meters or you'll get the second, if an opponent is near you you'll get the second closest...randoms are where there is not a spawn within that 17.5 meter radius...in other words, 17.5 meters is the key number! there is a post on mlgpro somewhere that explains this better

That's not exactly it, but close. If you stand by a pillar in the rocket pit of dammy for example, you force a random. The distance from that spot to the corner rocket pit spawn by small ladder is less than 17.5 meters, so why doesn't the player spawn there instead of randoming?
