You read that right. Most people went to MLG Dallas to play Halo 3 or Gears of War 2. Some might have went to enter the spectator event. Some others might have even went for the Madden Challenge.
BUT NOT US!
PWN went to MLG Dallas with the sole purpose in mind to promote Halo 1. With our shirts on and business cards in hand, we strolled into MLG and found a good amount of things.

The first thing; most everyone who went to Dallas went for Halo 3 and had never played Halo 1.

This was expected so a new tactic was formed on the fly to find players that loved Halo 1. In a nutshell, this new strategy worked! Not only did we link up with old pros like Eleven, Mando, Walshy and others, we even found out that almost ALL the officials played Halo 1 and loved it so much that they lanned it in the back during breaks. Even Sundance plays Halo 1!

We had people coming up to us and asking about Players World Network after a while and got dubbed "the Halo 1 guys". We would have liked to do more but MLG has some strict policies about some of the things we wanted to do, so we respected that and still found numerous players who loved Halo 1.

3 sleepless (and sometimes drunk....looking at you Bates) nights were spent getting the word out about the newly launched Players World Network. Not even the booth girls could distract us from our goal:rolleyes:

We ate so much stride gum from the booth that I was paranoid a ram might come out of no where and hit me in the stomach and then some random guy would tell me to "spit it out". I also drank so much doctor pepper that I thought I was going to get old and be on a commercial to throw ice cubes in a glass in slo mo. And BTW, they had ODST available to play and that booth shut down the same day it opened....Didnt seem like to many people liked it......would of never thought....
If you didn't read our first article about how we have plans and how we are SERIOUS about bringing back Halo 1 then realize it now. This site is dedicated and true to our word about the revival of competitive tournaments and everything Halo 1.
There are much more things that PWN has in the future to bring all this to you, so keep active and keep spreading the word and you WILL see the huge events and great Halo 1 times come back.
