I am trying to decide what is the best headphone to go with for gaming and listening to music also...i am going to be playing Halo Reach and i wanna make a choice soon to make sure i have them before Reach drops..i have been looking at the Astro A40 and mixamp combo, also been looking at other possibilities like the new Sennheiser PC 360's (which i can't really find being sold in the US) and a few others... If anybody has any suggestions based on personal experiences or something that you may have heard i'd appreciate some info..thanks:)

Turtle Beach HPX's are a good buy. Cheaper than the Astros Headset, and sound better too.

I just bought a set of Turtle Beach Ear Force X11s. My only complaint is they're a little tight around the ears, and when I'm done my head feels like I've been a head lock all night, but that may be due to the fact it's a brand new headset.
Sadly, I only got to use it for an hour in MW2 before my 360 E74'd, but they sounded great. I recommend, if you don't mind the wires, not getting wireless. I have had nothing but problems using the wireless headsets, like static coming through when the wire that runs from the headset to the controller moves a bit or comes in contact with the microphone cord, and other things.
Also, the X11s work for other stereo equipment, but only support Xbox as far as consoles go.

I ended up buying Sennheiser PC350's, also found them for a good price.. I also ordered HD555/595 velour ear pads from Sennheiser to replace the pleather pads that come with the PC350's.. I still gotta get the Astro Mixamp, and then i'll be all set for Reach:D
