basically after a few lans playing it i felt it needed work on areas..

mainly the pit was a mess and completely changed it to a hang em high style pit.

camo also changed spot where i felt is 100 percent better here and is on one minute time.

couple areas also i felt needed an increase in scaling to cut back on nade deaths.

few spwns fixed as well. try it out and see how you like it. the map will always be a work in progress so you may see another version in another month or so who knows.

thnx to heylow for doing it cuz i have not a clue how to mod maps. and of course thnx to pwnytar who made the whole mape but has been busy with school. o n eminem cd just leaked go d load fucs

i think its better than the 1st version with the changes to the pit area but i think the bridge is move slightly?? just seems harder to make the jump to top slope (or it could jst b me) which btw im not sure if its a good or a bad thing hmm.

oh and what is the point of the ladders in this map?

and then use the same scale for the rest of the map (i no its a v basic photo edit ) . my other idea that id like to see and think make give this map more depth and better gameplay would be:

make the pit lower (example height ish, damnation; from shotgun to rocket pit/ abit deeper than aerowalk pit but halo scaled) thus making it harder to get the rocks and harder to nade the camo down. obviously get rid of the slopes on the side and just have it as a pit. ways to get out of the pit could be either a ladder (not fan of really), one way teleporter (easiest option) or a tunnel out.

tunnel/s would really give this map a better feel just hardest option of all to do since its more work to make. The tunnels would go from blue flag (the muddy wall, make this into a tunnel)

and go outside the current map space forward afew spaces then down and rite heading towards the bottom mid pit. The second tunnel would also lead in the same style down and to bottom mid pit but from red flag side from same style muddy door http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/7192/picture3.png

for look wise the bottom could be kept the same style, grass and rock/s or just be more or less flooded from the waterfall but have the rockets still visible though. The tunnels them selves could have the rat race look to them to break the map up abit from the normal hallways/ corridors.

With the pit + tunnel idea added to the map it would change how it was played a lot. Missing the jump from bridge to top mid would leave you in the pit with fall damage and out of the game so to speak, making the jump more skillful straight away and putting the question, should i try the jump go clutch? atm u miss it u can get up top pretty quick by another route or even try the jump again quickly. Atm also the mid section is a no go area unless u no the opponents are dead since you can see all of it from all most all the map. Add new lowered pit and you could be down bottom mid waiting for rocks under bridge, not seen from top mid or even in the pit tunnel entrances. Atm it feels like your seen where eva you go, think these idea would give it more of a structure, chillout style (what i mean is in chillout in 2v2 you couldn't always see the enemy because they would be holding either pink room or rock room so you have to play more clever). The tunnels them selves would give you some good cqb (rat race shotgun tunnel ish) other flag running routes (not just toss flag/ run bottom mid) think like heh flag running through tunnels.

These are just some ideas and feedback i got from playing this map and hopefully everyone understands my ideas..mite try make some pics to make it more clear

the jump your taking about is the same has not changed. take more pics of the center of the map new pit so others can see if you can. scaling was increased in about 2/3rds of the map from the version b4 this. its pretty much maxed out in my opinion the size because any bigger it will take to long to get to any place. ( we tried bigger versions in earlier versions and was to slow).

im lanin it this weekend so ill get a better feel of the scale but i feel its good. your pit ideas is what we had the pit first version and it was horrible. was way to hard to get out with rocks. the tunnels dunno really i rather have a more open map it prob could work but it would give to much of a rat race feel and i dont care for that map. im sure in the future there will still be changes from just playing it more with the current setup and see what works good and sucks. thanks for feedback.

well the tunnels cud be just hallways like the rest of the map using same size and all so not like tunnels as such only thing making like tunnels is the length and how you fit them in i guess. For getting out problem i think its all on where u place the power ups them selves. Example, on dammy only time u ran and got rocks was when u had camo/ nade jumped with ov or jst risked it when a team had missed picking them up on time/were dead. Otherwise you just naded them to you, even sumtimes to top green. so you still b able to naded them to you or go for camo top mid drop down and get rocks etc..its just all about how you play it. i agree with u on rat race, not my one of my fav maps either.

if ne 1 wants to test msg me but i only got xlink kai. Can't get xbc working on my mac.

What's up with the red rock? (why is it bright red)

EDIT: I see now that it isn't really bright red. I really like the improvements.

I actually did change the bridge very slightly while i was making room for those ramps... I had to basically remake that entire pit area.. I think it had a very small effect on that jump though, I cant seem to make it as much as I used to..

yea i really like the changes as well, the pit now just makes the map just much smoother, and the camo every min in its new spot makes for a lot more interesting gameplay as well and makes that port and os side used a lot more then was in past. if any of you guys feel there should be any changes in certain parts of the map let me know. heylow did a great job on the pit and was exactly what i had in mind the whole time from the start.

Better than the last version. I always thought cloak on 1 min would be better, and it is. Movement is spread throughout the map better.

Will there ever be any changes on Red Shift for the camo? causeeee 2:00 is a bit long. and it's such a good map for that to hold it back.

It's funny you mention that. I was just talking to my lan buddies no more than 30 minutes ago about how I love Redshift as a map so much but absolutely hate cloak on 2 minutes. I could change it myself with Arsenic, but I would never do it and release it outside my lan group unless Insidious was to want that change. I, however, would thoroughly enjoy Redshift with 1 min cloak. I'm extremely surprised it wasn't 1 minute on release.

New Downrush is great. I actually didn't really enjoy the old one that much, still played it in 2v2s, but I would play other maps first, now I'm coming back to it way more. The cloak move/1min changed everything.

Just played Halo for the first time in awhile and I got to play this map....it may be much better than the original. The original was more of a chess game--almost reminded me of a slow game of Chill Out (ie--I know the other team is in invis room and I have to figure out/guess how they're going to come at me).
The new version promotes more map movement and is much faster paced.

isn't that down to not having wind turned on in the map?? the wind makes the flags blow/move without it this what you get i believe

the ctf is prob fucd, because they were not changed when the new version was changed. ill tell heylow when he releases his map pack to fix the ctf because downrush is gona be in his map pack.

there will be a lot more he said hes workin on another one right now. i think he wants like 8 maps.

If he has any maps with vehicles he should make sure Race game type works right on them, many of the vehicle maps in Halo Map v2 don't have any race/rally check points, or in the case of the map Camtrack they are in a stupid/wacky order.
Which is a shame since in Camtrack all the vehicles move at double or triple their normal speed, so you have a Tank going as fast as a vanilla (unmodified) Warthog.

since filefront is ghey i added a megaupload link. the ctf will be fixd for those who play ctf when heylow releases his map pack along with few minor tweeks, not sure when he is gona finish his map pack though.

Yep, I forgot to add the weather tag which contains the wind options, This was just a little test version I gave to sic after I got done with remaking the pit and widening a few halls...

and also, yes, monkey's outta the bottle, I am in the progress of making a map pack. I figure it'll be done around late fall or winter time. 6 original maps, 7 new maps. ill post some video, pics and more info about it in a few days.
