does anybody else notice that people call the "active camouflage" different names? everybody i know has always called it "camo" but ive noticed that some call it "invis" or "cloak". thats like nails on a chalkboard to me but i wondered what is the most common.

I'd say "camo" because that it's short for camouflage and as we all know, communication in Halo is based off short and precise calls.

I can't vote because I use them all interchangeably and I don't know why, but I do know that when someone has cloak(enemy) I usually call them a cloaker. I think cloak actually might be my favorite/most used so maybe I will vote.

Almost always map but I have heard/used level and board.

over shield=OS
maps=maps
cloak + rockets=clocks lol

I use all three. Ive never noticed a problem with team communication because of it either. They are all pretty clear names. I use them differently depending on the situation.

For instance, I guy is never has "invis, rocks" hes always has "camo, rocks", but I might say they "burned invis", and when im using a verb, its often "he cloaked"

Overshield is often heard "OS" but I personally say "ovie" more often.

maps are maps if its multiplayer Halo. They are levels if its campaign.

someone who has cloak,and overshield is "suited"

and someone who has cloak, os, and rocks has "all the goodies"

I say "inviso", you say "for shizzo"...
I say "os", you say "that's messed"...
I say "map", you say "oh crap"...
I say "beast", you say "yeast (infection)"...

LOL! Ya, I say inviso, os, and map. I also say "inviso rocket" for a cloaked rocket man. I also say "beast or beastmaster" for someone who has inviso, os, and rock (rockets). I've heard people say "stage, map, level, and board", I agree that board is str8 up weird.

Other "Halo jargon" in my "linguistic library"...
1. sick = any really awesome kill
2. I let out high chipmunk-like sounds when I do something sick, I have a buddy who clucks like a chicken when he does
3. triple kill = trips
4. good rocket kills = sick rocks
5. leet stick = good plasma grenade kill
6. bot = best of three
7. run two or twos (which I'm sure is very common) = a 2v2 LAN game

Map names:
Dere = Derelice
C O= Chill Out
H H or Hang'em = Hang'em High
B C = Battle Creek or Birth Control
Priz = Prisoner
Dammy = Damnation
Rat or R R = Rat Race
Immi = Imminent
Ex = Exhibit
D R = Downrush

Can't really say a reason why, I just do. However I have no problem understanding when people use any of the other names for it.

And I always say "maps"
