its been just 2 days and a lot has been done. no lighting has been put into the map or textures so bare with that, im thinking of a color pattern like dammy with each room different like green room, or just keeping it like priz. anyways enjoy pwnytar did great job scaling it. leave some feedback its me walking around on halo pc with mouse and mouse feels retarded to walk around with but you get the idea, should be converted into the xbox by end of week. few things need to be added and changed like adding plas gun or shotty and pistol spwns player spwns and nade spwns.

word, ull be one of the first ill let know when its first version is in xbox, just got done walking around with thor and he liked it alot, described it as a less gayer version of chillout haha. like prisoner and chillout had sex together and it is its bastard child.

yea im quite fond of the layout myself,pwny and I wanted to keep the map simple as in not obstructing your view with stuff a map does not need, and just keep the lines of sight in the map awesome. that's the reason priz works so well and hh your line of site is great and you can pretty much see the person at all times if you position your self right.

textures are prety much decided on and implemented gona be a mix of hh n priz. pwntar just has to put all the spwns in on friday and should be able to give a few people version 1 to play test. things might change from version 1 depending how what works or what doesn't, how the flow and game play feels.

I played this map last night with Nappy and it is sick. It's by far my favorite of the new maps and it's not even finished yet. It has the vertical feel of prisoner and it's non stop battling, although I think it will slow down a little bit once we all figure out how to play it. Very nice work. Can't wait for the finished version.

a lot is still going to change map is not even a week old. the layout is gona remain same camo going to go to 2 min and nade spwns moved to bottom. also the falls wont be heard unless your in the pit. that and you wont be able to nade thru floor that will be fixed, and the 1 way teli will port you to dif spot maybe by ladder up top, scaling in few rooms will also be increased to move around nades better.

I like the idea of moving the 1 way portal. Didn't seem to be in the best location. 2 min cloak will be a good idea too, and will probably increase movement in the map. We tended to set up around top and focus on cloak. I'm glad the nade-thru the floor change is getting changed. I died 3-4 times during one game because of that, my teammate and the other team was dying like that too.

Honestly, you covered any major complaint I had, and really, they weren't huge deals to me (besides maybe the nades through the floor). The map felt natural, but once set up at top, teams rarely moved far away, there was just no point. If you're top, you have cloak, and you can't really get rockets without cloak safely, so it was a problem. Moving one way portal is GREAT, because the exit is at a VERY vulnerable position.

yea will have to be play tested, the port moved further away will help it will also face you towards camo, also no camo there every min will force action more at os. as strats evolve though more will be nadeing camo down and nadeing rock to certain parts of map to themselves and also there wont be 2 nade spawns up top in that area will help lessen the spamming the nades at ports. we are gona play around with few ideas the scaling of the map might increase to about 150 percent so you dont get that feeling where you cant avoid nades in certain parts of the map like longest. also gona try to make the snipe room port a 2 way to top and that would be in ladder/os room or keep it just a 1 way gona play test both. thanks for your suggestions.

second version scaled to big. instead of 150 percent increase gona do 120-125 percent increase from original version. its hard to nail the scaleing perfect unless you test each version in 2vs2, because it looks a lot different in blueprint the size then it does once you put into xbox.

those that got to play the latest version i know a good amount did post some suggestions.i personally am thinking of making it still 10 percent smaller both length and width, replacing the bars with just windows and make the pit like 2-3 feet less deep so easier to get out with rock adding some cover in shotgun hallway. also some think os is to hard to get i personally don't but i can see the issue for those that don't know where crouch is on the controller.

The problem is with OS is that it a tiny bit too high. Lowering it slightly would be fine.

obv id like omen but the map doesn't fit what omen means. if it was like lava pits n shit omen be good.

I like the idea of making the valley higher so that you don't have to jump out as far to get rockets. Other than that I don't have any qualms with the map because I haven't gotten a chance to really break it down, that just seems like one of the obvious gaps. You can blast it out but it's a tricky throw from certain locations.

On a side note, to design and implement maps can I just use tutorials from Halo PC? I'm sorry to ask this here but I've scoured the internet and since Halo Mods is going down I can't find shit besides PC threads. All these new maps have me wanting to try my hand at it. I would imagine the tags are quite alike. Thanks again for the work, the layout is quite brilliant.

if your serious bout trying, learn 3dsmax as much as possible then go from there, you'll need halo custom edition for pc and hek which is what halopc users use to make maps. here is a great start because they have tutorials to make maps http://hce.halomaps.org/. i really only know how to use 3dsmax pwny does all the actual in game changing i just gave him the idea to do the map with the layout it has now, then we go from there making decisions what it needs the map and what needs to be changed. we will keep making small changes here and there after testing till i feel the map is perfect, a lot already im me and tell me they like the map a lot, so not gona be a ton of changes with pwny, just a few i still think it needs. the name will obviously change it was something we came up with on the spur of the moment cuz the map needed a name. the goal of the map is for people to play it for years by either people still lucky enough to lan every weekend like its 2003 or xbc warriors looking to get their halo fix in before work.

Downloaded the version on here and we like it but here are my suggestions:

More cover in hallways.
Another way up from bottom (like ladder room where health pack is)
Smaller by 10% or so ...

i agree on the "another way up from bottom" part 100%.. i was in angry meg mode when i couldn't get up top. but i haven't played the map since the first weekend it was out.
i think it could be smaller, but i feel like people may not like to play that on xbc

the version you played is a lot dif then the version hes talking about. he has the version where the map was increased scaling by like 50 percent. the latest version as of feb 12 the scaling is a lot dif. nappy is lanin it i told him to record a game ill post it on u tube when he sends.

glad you enjoyed. we are not going to change anything really just take out 1 or 2 player spwns in the pit out, and add a slant on wall in ladder room so another way up there to plaz gun. and position the 3 rocks in the pit better so easier to jump out with rocket. there will also be a random in the pit if your by waterfall. other then that i really like how this version turned out, so not changing anything if its not broken.

Above is a link to my youtube page. There you'll find some footage of Bris Bac's new map. It is AMAZING and will soon take its place with your Damnations, Prisoners, and Hangem Highs. I'm going to work on formatting it differently, possibly to avi instead of mpeg so that the quality is better. ;)

Also - on a side note - if you are designing maps for H1 this is by far the best way to do it. By releasing versions of maps to everyone he has like 100 beta testers and gets way more feedback. This is how great maps are created. I wish insidious would have done this, and pwnytar too for that matter. But thx for releasing these beta versions to us so we can help test them.

yea if i was gona spend my time on something like this along with pwny i wanted to do it right. any map u make u need to be able to test the shit out of it and keep having different versions and make sure each version is better then the next. i agree with some of your ideas but people still don't know how to play the map yet i can see with how they try to setup, the snipe room my strat is grab it and port then control os side blanin peep trying to hold camo. its like dammy when you spwn most good players grab the snipe off spwn then head opposite side of the map by port. a map needs a part that has a slight advantage on so ur fighting for control to hold that spot. if both sides are complete same then it has boring gameplay, that's why most symetric maps are so boring for 2vs2.

ya chi town sounds like its badass with all those players, nj usta be like that in 02-03 a good 20 people or so to lan with, now there is 1-2 people in nj ny area that still play. anyway i doubt id ever go that far to lan halo to lazy to be honest, but your more then welcome to come here at my shore crib in summer for sum halo n bbq that goes for anyone.

i like a couple of ideas proph had, the snipe on os side interests me and another way up in ladder room we already changed. i play the map different then most people, a lot try to setup on camo side, but i take the snipe then port to os side. also a few will learn soon that you can nade rocket so it flys to os nade pit right to u. if the team is uncontesting you for os make em pay for it by doubling up on os and working the 2 ports together with ur teammate like rr they will soon learn not to give up os so easy. camo is very important but its only every 2 min so i see no point setting up there all game. the map is all bout baiting really, some of the better players like patch would be very hard to play here because of that.

First time I've seen a Halo map with a PIC to go with it lol ... Gives me lots of ideas for halo maps ;)

final version should be out real soon. thanks all that helped. each version i felt got 5 percent better with testing. now this last version plays so smooth im very happy with the game play. could spend a little more time putting gimmick stuff to make it look prettier but i don't care for clutter in a map. after asking over 30 people what names they liked the best out of downfall downrush and cascade downfall won every time. with that said downfall still might not be the final name will let everyone know shortly.
