Shouldnt tell DiZzY how to host a H1 tourny.:) If three teams show up its still 5k. So yea some noobs can will 5K play h1, so show up if you wish to play a great game for some money!

I may even sponcer another team for this one too. The last team i sponcerd won the tourny. Good times... And i got screwed out of FFA Darkstar and Shaypun are my witnesses!

if you want people to show up or even become enthusiastic about this you need to convince them, until then its just a post on a forum.

I can vouch for Dizzy. His last tourney was shortly after the big KS tourney I threw a couple years ago and his was just as good and big and paid out more money. I guarantee you he will grab 20 teams if he's putting up the 5K and I also guarantee he has the money behind it. I met Dizzy in KS - he came down with a team he sponsored and they are really cool guys and they know their shit. This will happen. Just set a date and I will spread the word like wildfire. Oh and make sure you do it the month before MLG kicks off 2010 ;)

Paying that much out I would guess it would have to be around $200 per team. He would need 25 teams to break even at that point unless he has sponsor dollars behind it...

just keep it 2vs2s, 4s no1 plays anymore and im sure 99 percent would agree in all 2vs2 tornament with winners n loser bracket top 5 getting money. pool play or ffa for seeds. i rather see all the money dumped into the 2vs2 then splitting it. but its your tourney just trying to offer some friendly sugestions as to what people would rather see. good luck cuz running anything to do with h1 takes a ton of money.

I have always wanted to do a 2v2 only, but peeps really like the 4v4 it makes since in alot of diff ways, can car pool with a team of 4 then spilt up come down to 2v2's etc... but yea deff noted.

Very good idea...four months in advance is plenty...I kinda agree with s(i)c in the fact that four people agreeing to come to a tourney and playing together (ctf, oddball, ts i'm assuming) is soooo much harder then two dudes coming to play just ts. I absolutely love ctf and think it is so underplayed these days at H1 LANs. Maybe a big 4v4 ts, ctf, oddball tourney with purse of $4000 and a side 2v2 ts tourney for $1000? Just some thoughts.

Can't disagree with Sic/Omen more. All the good players want 4v4s and 2v2s - the only kids who want 2v2s are the xbc generation because all they have ever played is 2v2 TS Chilly Dammy Hangem and Priz...

4v4 is where it's at - truly good halo players excel at all gametypes, not just 2v2 TS - that's why players like Walshy, Dark, OGs, etc were so gross because they raped all gametypes not just TS - that's why so many H2 & H3 players suck because they have no teamwork they just go around killin ...

have a poll of people thinking about attending i bet you if people had to choose between a 2vs2 and a 4vs4 tornament over 75 percent would go for the 2s. im not hateing on 4s i playd it as much as anyone back in the day 02-05 and it was fun but to actually pratice for 4s is impossible nowadays. the days where we could get 16 people over to lan every weeknd is long gone.

halo1 is great for 4s but having a tournament nowadays that people can actually practice for, 2vs2 is the only legitimate way. and i was at 3 mlgs back in the day and 50k1 and 50k2 to say old school players loved 4s alot more is not acurate every single side game at tournaments playd back in day was 2vs2. tdt loved 4s ps guys loved 4s but every other team was all about playin 2s. so its not just the normal mode of thinking of h1 players nowadays. dizzy put up a poll when you have this tournament with the attendees voting on if they had to choose if it was 2vs2 or 4vs4 what they would play, i know your gona do both but i wana prove my point!! id just rather see someone walk away with like 1k or more in the 2s. patch should be thanking me im trying to make him sum cash. if this was 2004 i wouldn't even be bringing this up cuz 4vs4 is must. anyways whatever it is will be cool its halo1. but i personally think if atracting as many people as possible all over country the numbers will be alot bigger all 2vs2. its alot easier to get another bro to come play then it is to find 3 bros willing to come out and fly.

A 4s tournament is also a 2s tournament, a 4s tounament is also a FFA tournament.
A 2s is also an ffa tournament.

So if i had a 2s tounament and 40 teams showed up then i would have 20 teams for 4s we would start off with 4s KOTH oddball ctf then move onto the 2s tourny. but FFA woulod be first.

See tournaments arent just show up sign up and play there qualifiying to do and what not.....

Side note: my fav, gametype for 4s is KOTH Dammy!!! love it!!!!

any news on this tourney, I'd be real interested. I have a 4s team that would love to compete(and win). I do feel that H1 is at its best with 2s but 4s is a must for a tourney. If there is a reason to get together and play(like a tourney with 5k up for grabs) then teams will form and scrimmages will happen, it happened for MD Madness and it will happen for this too. I really hope we can get an update on the status of this tournament, is it in doubt?

Thanks Proph, I just hope I can convince my team to travel to Cali(it's a pretty long jaunt from good ol PA). I know I'm all for it though, maybe when it happens we can have a little exhibition match;)
