Ok this is how my connection is. I have no router and only a modem.

At the bottom of the setup tutorial it says this

That's it! No other network changes should be needed for this configuration. Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC.


They act like that's it, but 90% of the servers i see in H1 are FW and i can't join. I can't even connect with my friends because of it.


is there ANY way i could connect to more people?????

i've bought one before and it didn't work.


I won't be getting another anytime soon, so is there any other way i can with my current setup?

Ok this is what I did and it let me join games and host. i did this all ove ra period of a few months, and i'm not sure which one in paticular worked for me /if it was a combo, but you can try some of these

1-dmz'd my router..google "dmz" + your router make andmodel. not sure what it does but it helps...i think it opens up your stuff.
2-turn off your firewalls..like the anti virus firewalls and the windows firewall that's in vista
3-http://forums.xbconnect.com/showthread.php?t=14663 if you have Vista
4-forward your ports... http://www.portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/XBConnect/XBConnectindex.htm
5- after you do this restart your computer

often times modems can have port forwarding and security features as well, might wanna check into that. go inside your modem (on the computer of course) and make sure you dont have security on there.

add a router on to that and you have double the security to worry about, not including the things on your computer. just one tiny little thing can cause everyone to go FW for you, its a bitch.

it wont let me. when i go into the NTSC server it wont show anything and then close on my and say my connection isn't right or something.

DMZ literally opens EVERY SINGLE PORT ON YOUR ROUTER LOL, its like the ultimate open nat. Its dangerous to browse the web and shit like that but...

btw when you first install a router (like when you bought one) the nat is open but for xbc more ports need to be added for it not to say FW so still having that router would have been good =(
