post working links to working timers
here is a link to the old school 1337 timer, i think that was the original name of it but people might have changed it up over time. if you played way back in the day you may remember seeing this one. should work on any computer
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LO6TL4UF
i have aequitas h1 timer as well, i like it a little better but the 1337 one is just as effective and works on all computers, some comps cant load up aequitas for some reason. its on my other comp so ill upload it later when i get on it and edit this post.

chaosTheory's mp3 timer - [link (http://www.filefront.com/13927335/cTs_Halo_Timer.mp3/)]
I'll look for his official explanation of the sounds, but if I can't find them I'll just post them in my own words.
Edit: Can't find his explanation, so here goes:
The timer counts down from 60 seconds in 10 second intervals, then counts the final 10 seconds of each minute in 1-second intervals.
At the 30-second mark, you will hear various sounds to let you know that certain items are coming back on the next minute mark. These sounds are: Explosion/triple clap (rockets), and Rattlesnake (overshield on Hangem, and every other camo on Rat Race).
Edit 2: Found cT's post:
lol. I made that stupid thing a long time ago without any intent to ever distribute it, but since then a bunch of people have gotten a hold of it and asked me this. It started with just a booooom sound but I found myself not noticing it so I added 3 claps. That combo of sounds means you are 30 seconds from an even minute. So it sounds at 1:30, 3:30, etc... having 30 seconds of notice before rockets are up proves useful. The other sound is a vibraslap and it is 30 seconds before a third minute 2:30, 5:30, etc. Useful for top powerup in hh or ratrace (3rd minutes are OS and camo). Youd hear both at 5:30 for example, cause 6min is both a 3rd and even.

here's a link to "versa timer"
it's what i use when my talker's batteries die. this is a very good, basic timer, that's programable...so you can set it to tell you what you want, when you want it to.

Aequitas timer - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EE34G90T
this is the one i use, it only works for about half the people i send it to. not sure why, anyways its sleek and very nice. just click the button to turn on or off the sound for that weapon.
the first one i posted is probably the most reliable, plus you can change more stuff on that one. it may be old and simple, but its really a good timer, shouldn't hate on it.
also, if any of you come across vaders timer, i would suggest not using it. when i used it it got off count every time. but maybe that was just me.

I used to have one that would speak to me. Might have been aequitas' but I'm running Windows 7 now and it doesn't work. If I ever get back into playing on XBC, I'll probably just code up my own in Java or something.

I usually put cT's timer on my iPod and just listen to it during the game. Computer timers dont really help since my computer is little bit aways from the xbox.
